pointe classes

Okay, so I'm 14 and recently started a lyrical hip hop class (because it was the only class they had available at the time for my age) and I talked to the owner about taking the pointe class and she said that she wouldn't accept me into the class because I don't really have dance experience and since they are beginning pointe she didn't think I would have the strength in my ankles, knees, feet, and legs. Which I do modeling work, and I run alot and do P90X with my mom. My mother used to teach ballet so she knows quite a bit but she can only teach me so much because she tore the tibia? band in her hip and tore her rotator cuff and a ligament in her shoulder. So my mom says I may, if I work really hard, be able to be on beginning pointe in two months or so, but the head dance teacher won't really talk to me about it. So I was wondering from an unbiased source if I could really have a chance at being on pointe so soon. My main reason for wanting to know is I want to go into college with a dance major, and I know I am coming into dance late, but I used to move around so much I wasn't able...so if you could respond ASAP that would be awesome!! Thank you for any help!

OK, being one of the gravity-impaired non-dancers on this board I don't understand: what's the hurry? One my former computer students was pushed onto pointe too soon and still suffers from the damage it did to her feet.

Well, I'm graduating from high school early, and I'm trying to get into college fall of 2010, and if I go in as a dance major, to any of the schools I would like to go to. I have to have experience on pointe. Which, my teachers say as soon as my technique is more advanced, I can be on pointe, but I need more opinions really. x.x
