Ballet Class in Mathare, Kenya.

I just wanted to post this story about ballet flourishing in a very unlikely place. I actually had the opportunity to walk through the Mathare slums, I can tell you that it's absolutely amazing that they managed to put together a ballet class.

Nairobi — One would normally associate high density estates with  squalor, poverty and crime. Yet in the middle of all the squalor of the  sprawling Mathare neighbourhood, a group of children have taken up an  unlikely passion -- ballet -- normally only seen in elite schools.

What a great story, thank you for sharing this. Fantastic story of little girls finding true joy in the art form rather than being there because their Mother has signed up them up because that is was is trendy.
